CIPO’s 20th Anniversary gala fundraiser just became the charity event of the year!

We are fortunate to have Dr. Brian Goldman the host of CBC’s hit show “White Coat, Black Art” as our evening’s keynote speaker. We will enjoy music by celebrity pianist, composer and conductor, David Warrack and he will be joined by singer, the “Diva in the Rough”, Catherine Hughes.

CIPO has 3 travel bursaries available to those needing financial assistance and discounted room rates available through Friday October 20th.

Join us to celebrate 20 years of the Canadian Immunodeficiencies Patient Organization! This black and white fundraiser in support of CIPO services, will look back on the two decades of primary immundeficiency community in Canada and honour the people who champion the cause.

Dr. Brian Goldman is a veteran ER physician and one of Canada’s most trusted medical broadcasters. He has been an award-winning medical reporter for CBC Television’s The Health Show as well as The National. He’s known across Canada as CBC Radio One’s “House Doctor.” Brian has a proven knack for making sense of medical baffelgab. On ‘White Coat, Black Art’, he takes listeners past medical bluff and bluster and shows what really goes on at hospitals and clinics. Brian is also author of The Night Shift, Real Life in the Heart of the ER, which takes readers to the front line of emergency medicine and offers a compelling inside view into an often shrouded world.

The New York Times, “Most impressive… Mr. Warrack is a major talent who is welcome in our town.” David Warrack has had 66 shows produced professionally and he has been Musical Director for over two hundred productions across North America, including Shenandoah starring John Cullum on Broadway. He won a Dora Mavor Moore Award in Toronto for his production of Toronto, Toronto, and for outstanding Music Direction on the production of Closer Than Ever. He is the founding conductor of the Canada Pops Orchestra and an accompanist to the stars.

The “Diva in the Rough”, Catherine Hughes has performed in venues across Toronto and the GTA to rave reviews. With her story telling and on-stage shenanigans garnering almost as much acclaim as her bawdy, bluesy, soaring contralto, she earned a reputation for being able to elicit laughter and tears at the same time. NOW magazine has described her as a “cross between Mae West and Bette Middler”.

We appreciate donations for our silent auction or any contribution to help make this evening a success. Thank you.
